1. Overview

PeerView helps users track job applications, organize application stages, and view aggregated community insights through Lens. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have.

This policy should match how PeerView actually works. If we add new vendors, analytics tools, paid plans, ads, or major new features, we will update this page.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in a few basic categories:

  • Account information: email address, username, authentication records, and account settings.
  • Profile information: profile picture, display information, bio, friend/follow relationships, and other profile details you choose to add.
  • Application tracker information: companies, roles, stages, dates, notes, goals, streak activity, and other job-search information you choose to save.
  • Security and technical information: IP address, timestamps, request metadata, user-agent information, and rate-limit records used to secure the service and prevent abuse.
  • Cookies and local storage: data used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate core app features. If we use optional analytics cookies, we will describe them clearly.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create, authenticate, and secure your account.
  • Provide Tracker, Lens, profiles, and notifications.
  • Store and display the job-search information you choose to add.
  • Rate-limit requests, prevent abuse, debug errors, investigate security issues, and protect PeerView.
  • Send account-related emails, such as verification, password reset, security, and important service messages.
  • Improve product reliability, performance, and user experience.

4. Lens and aggregated insights

Lens is designed to show aggregated application movement, not expose individual user activity. For example, Lens may show how PeerView-tracked applications for a company or role move through stages such as assessment, interview, offer, rejection, or withdrawal.

Lens statistics should be treated as PeerView-tracked application outcomes, not official hiring rates or guaranteed results. We may use privacy thresholds before showing company or role-level insights so that individual users are not easily identifiable.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only as needed to operate PeerView, comply with law, protect the service, or with your direction.

  • Service providers: hosting, database, authentication, storage, email delivery, analytics, security, and infrastructure providers that help us run PeerView.
  • Other users: information you choose to make public, such as profile details, posts, comments, likes, or community activity.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or protect users and systems.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use necessary cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, maintain sessions, remember preferences, and secure the service. These are required for PeerView to work correctly.

If we add optional analytics, marketing, or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and provide any required choices before using those tools where required by law.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide PeerView, secure the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

  • Account and tracker data are generally kept while your account is active.
  • Security logs and IP-based rate-limit records are kept for a limited period unless needed for an active security investigation.
  • If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information unless we need to keep it for legal, security, backup, or abuse-prevention reasons.
  • Aggregated Lens statistics may remain if they no longer identify you personally.

8. Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.

You can also update some account information inside PeerView. If we send marketing emails in the future, you will be able to unsubscribe from those emails. Transactional account and security emails may still be sent when necessary to operate the service.

9. Children

PeerView is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect user information, including authentication controls, access restrictions, database protections, and security monitoring. No online service is completely secure, so users should protect their login credentials and use strong passwords.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PeerView changes or when legal requirements change. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as through the product or by email.
